Producer and one half of the hip-hop soul duo Foreign Exchange, Nicolay pays tribute to legendary jazz musician Bob James in this exclusive track.

Nicolay met up with James’ people back in 2006 when they were looking for producers for a new project titled Sampling Bob James: The Nautilus Project.
The idea behind that album was to have DJ’s and producers present their take on one of the most sampled tracks in hip-hop history. The project has yet to be released so Nicolay has offered up to us the public his take on Bob James.
According to 2DopeBoyz.com and confirmed by NicolayMusic.com: “(Nicolay) is dropping this bi-weekly series called Off The Shelf, where he digs into his archives to present a gem that has never been released, or that has otherwise been forgotten about, dropping every second and fourth Tuesday of the month.”

Kounter Kulture exists due to the ones that act in contradiction to social norms, the ones who don’t move with the crowd, the ones who set the pace. True leaders of people the icons of their generation and beyond — Dr. Martin Luther King may not be associated with the word rebel that much but in his day he was the revolutionary figure that disrupted modern society and brought forth change.
On this day remember MLK.
